ANNUAL ROTC SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS LUNCHEON

This event took place at Logan’s Roadhouse in Fayetteville, NC.
This annual ROTC Scholarship Awards Luncheon marked the 27th anniversary of the Cape Fear Chapter’s ROTC Scholarship Program. Since its inception in 1998, the Chapter has awarded a total of $225,500 in ROTC scholarships.
The meeting was convened by President Williamson who led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Chaplain Atkinson lead the singing of the National Anthem and delivered the invocation.
Retired US Army Major General William Kirkland was the guest speaker.
The main event on the agenda was the presentation of seven scholarships as follows:
Cadet Dayanara Estefany Tellez, Air Force ROTC, UNC Pembroke, Pembroke, North Carolina was the winner of the Meinhardt ROTC Scholarship valued at $3,000
Cape Fear Chapter, MOAA, JROTC Scholarships valued at $2,500 each were awarded to:
Cadet Tarick Antonio Fuller, Air Force ROTC, Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, North Carolina
Cadet Laura Pauline Trivett, Air Force ROTC, Campbell University, Buies Creek, North Carolina
JROTC SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
Cadet Anaisa Laylani Lopez, Army JROTC, Westover High School, Fayetteville, North Carolina was the winner of the Bill Dadek Memorial JROTC Scholarship valued at $3,000
Cape Fear Chapter, MOAA, JROTC Scholarships valued at $2,500 each were awarded to:
Cadet Luke C. Jones, Army JROTC, Jack Britt High School, Fayetteville, North Carolina
Cadet Leiana K. Locklear, Army JROTC, Purnell Swett High School, Pembroke, North Carolina
Cadet Leslie Y.S. Flores, Army JROTC, Lumberton Senior High School,
Lumberton, North Carolina
Taking part in the presentation of scholarships to the ROTC cadets included: Chapter President Greg Williamson and MG Kirkland.
Scholarship recipients were accompanied by parents, family members, and ROTC cadre too numerous to list here.
