Monies raised at this event go directly to funding the chapter’s ROTC Scholarships Fund, which to date has awarded $246,500 in college scholarships since the program’s inception in 1998, plus support grants to 25 high school JROTC programs to help defray unfunded expenses of their summer cadets’ leadership training camps. Additionally, funds raised support the chapter’s charitable programs that service our active-duty soldiers and their families at Fort Bragg and Pope Field like the USO, Fisher House, Red Cross, and the post’s YMCA food pantry. Lastly, funds raised also enhance the chapter’s ability to contribute to local community programs in support of our veterans such as the Fayetteville Area Habitat for Humanity Veterans Build.

In addition to the fundraising aspect of the golf tournament, the event presents an opportunity to invite our active-soldiers to play in the tournament at no expense to them. The entry fees for them are donated by our chapter members as well as our tournament sponsors and supporters as a way of thanking them for their service and sacrifices. Historically, approximately 50 active-duty soldiers have played in the tournament each year.
