Highlights of the meeting included:

• Introduction of new members: Bill and Anie Dooner, and Chris and Lauren Zimmer.

• Presentation of certificates of appreciation to: Jerry Croll for his generous donation of gift baskets as raffle prizes the proceeds of which went to the scholarship fund; and, to John Hazlett for his volunteer work with the USO Center at the Fayetteville Regional Airport.

• Induction of Drew Brooks, Military Editor of the Fayetteville Observer as Honorary Member for his sustained support of the Cape Fear Chapter over a period of 3 years.

• Recognition of Chapter Secretary Don Gersh’s 66th birthday.

The winner of the 50/50 drawing was Steve Byrnes who turned around and donated his winnings of $88.50 to the scholarship fund.
