The guest of honor and speaker at this meeting was US Representative Renee Ellmers. This was her initial visit to the Cape Fear Chapter and she delivered a report on the status of legislative issues affecting the active military and veterans. She also reported on her efforts to retain the 440th Airlift Wing at Pope Field. Congresswoman Ellmers was inducted into the Cape Fear Chapter as an Honorary Member.

The event was a record breaker in terms of attendance (98), and the number of prominent guests. Fayetteville Mayor Nat Robertson; XVIII Airborne Corps Commander, LTG Stephen Townsend; and, BG James Scanlan, Commander, 440th Airlift Wing attended among several other special guests.

The event also presented an opportunity to farewell Chaplain (Major) Ron Webb who is departing Fort Bragg on permanent change of station to Fort Lewis, Washington. Chaplain Webb was presented a certificate of achievement for his outstanding service to the Cape Fear Chapter from November 2013 to May 2015.

Three new members were welcomed to the chapter: Mark Boyatt, Scott Panagrosso, and Marv Gordner .
