Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day Events
The Armed Forces Day celebration is sponsored by the Armed Forces Motorcycle Club each year. The organization is comprised of several regional motorcycle clubs composed of military veterans. As part of the Memorial Day weekend observance each motorcycle club presents a memorial wreath to honor their fallen comrades.
The Cape Fear Chapter, although not a motorcycle club, was again offered the opportunity to present a memorial wreath at the wreath ceremony on 16 May 2015. Chapter President Chavez and Carol Ivey, representing the Auxiliary members of the chapter, presented the Cape Fear Chapter wreath.
The same wreath was again presented at the Memorial Day ceremony at Freedom Memorial Park on Memorial Day, Monday, 25 May 2015. The wreath was on display at the Armed Forces Memorial tier at the park. The beautiful wreath was made and donated to the Cape Fear Chapter by Linda Sanderson.
